There is a new firmware available for the Nokia E65 but personally, it hasn't got me convinced that it is worth it. Below are the new features in the firmware version v3.0633.69.00 Also I have tried to run Software updater from the Nokia PC suite but I get a "Missing Software Components" error. It appears even after reinstalling so I havent figured it out yet. Probably wait till a better update comes along. For now, if the following interests you, load up your Software Updater and hope you have more luck than me:

So is that safe to install/update? where to get the update? not able to find on Nokia site. on the update page it says update not available
ReplyDeletePlease tell us how to get this update. I'm about ready to throw my E65 out with all it's crashing.
ReplyDeleteI'm desperate! I'll try any update Nokia offers!!
I used the software updater but it wouldn't even recognize my phone :(
For the benefit of the other anonymous poster... the E65 crashing is usually caused by bad physical contact between the battery and the phone's terminals, so check that the battery fits in REALLY snuggly. That is specially the case if your phone crashes when you open or close the slider. It is also advisable to turn your or reboot phone off every day (at night, perhaps), thus avoiding memory leaks and other bugs that may build up and contribute to the crashing.
ReplyDeleteHi there. I got a Nokia E65 too and have to say. This phone is VERY slow and sluggish! Damnit:( ... And the reason for that the phone is not recognized is because Nokia removed the software support for a line of phones. E65 was one of them. They say that they will reintroduce software support for it. BUT WHEN?!
ReplyDeleteJust follow the updates: http://europe.nokia.com/A4577225
If i don't like the new updated software how do i rollback to old software? Any help is appreciated ....
ReplyDeletewhere do I get the new firmware btw?
ReplyDeleteHello there, I'm new here. My E65 still has the original firmware, I'm in the UK with an unbranded phone but Nokia Software Update always says that there no updates for my phone. How do I go around that?
ReplyDeleteI connected my phone to the updater and it said there is a new version of the "Updater". And now, after getting a 22mb download and installing, it tells me that they don't have support for Vista and to check back later. Why did they make me download it in the first place? How do i update my phone firmware now ?
ReplyDeleteSorry Anonymous, cant help you there because i have the same problem. Vista error. Hopefully Nokia will be quicksmart about getting an update out soon!
ReplyDeleteAnon 2 - Backup your data using the PC suite, and then try search around nokia.com or the equivalent for your region, for an update. Since you are in Europe.. try this http://europe.nokia.com/A4579163 and click on the Nokia E65 image.
Anon 3 - Place to get the firmware, open up your PC suite, click on Update phone software... and it may work :)
Microsoft Vista support temporarily removed - 8 May 2008
ReplyDeleteSupport for Microsoft Vista has temporarily been removed from the Nokia Software Updater. This is due to recent changes in certain Microsoft Vista configurations that cause the Nokia Software Updater to become unstable. Other Microsoft Operating Systems are not affected. Support will be reintroduced as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

i tried to do update and it failed half way through. phone is dead now, how can i revive it? xp says a driver is missing nsu cant connect to phone. Any solutions?
ReplyDeleteSame problem here - phone is completely dead after failing halfway through the updating process. Any ideas anyone?
ReplyDeleteJust tried the v3 update and it rendered my phone useless. Now have to go to nokia and get it fixed.
ReplyDeleteSame problem as above. Got to about 9 mins remaining and said can't find phone and fails the update.
Everybody here is right... e65 sucks. Do you experience like you have an urgent call to make and suddenly your e65 will crush? I do, a lot of times. I am planning to disposed my e65 with MIO phone. I think it is much better.
ReplyDeleteThis Nokia e65 is absolute rubbish.
ReplyDeleteAll it does well is crash and reset.
Nokia, solve this.
Hi everyone, i have been using the phone (E65) for over a year, i had some problems with the firs software, but since i have updated the soft, it works perfect and i like it very much, i won't sell it ever...
ReplyDeleteGood lock
sup everyone! i just got the phone and was wonderin how to get the sim card out of it! so far, i've manage to cut myself!
ReplyDeleteDONT UPDATE!
ReplyDeleteAfter this update my battery life is really short - before with talking it lasted for 2 days, now with little talking its less than a day :( it sucks
Not one single problem with this new firmware update.
ReplyDeleteI updated around two months ago and phone is working as it should.
Not one single restart or bug.
Update lasted for about an hour and battery should be fully charged before starting the update.
battery life has not changed, wifi is working as it should, bluetooth is as slow as it was considering it is v1... maybe the phone boots a little slower now with new firmware.
In general safe update if your E65 has been made in Finland... for other production countries I can't claim...
