Addicted to MSN Messenger? Login on your Mobile Phone

Its been mentioned earlier that you can use MSN Messenger using the program Fring.. however, if you are using a slower internet connection like some data plans, Fring won't actually work. It works best when you are using a WIFI network. Also, some phone companies have certain arrangements where you can sign up for monthly subscriptions to use MSN but I don't understand why people would do that when you can do it for free. Here are some ways:

There is another way, using your phone internet browser to log in to your MSN messsenger account. Go to http://m.ninemsn.com.au/msg and it will take you to a login screen. Once you are used to this website, it would probably make more sense to bookmark the later page http://mim.live.com/wlm/imsi.aspx (this one might work for international users).

Another way is to use http://m.ebuddy.com on your phone browser. This will also get you access to MSN Messenger on your iphone, PDA, Nintendo DS or even your Sony Playstation Portable! They also have an application which you can download and install to your phone if you want. Download it here.

Fring
Has been mentioned in previous posts like this one, but if you want to download Fring, you can get it from here. All you need to do is fill in your mobile phone number and FRING will actually sms you a download link for free where you can download the program. Remember, if you download it using your mobile phone provider, download charges may apply. Fring is good if you have a VOIP account, read more here.

Why would you want MSN on your phone? Here are some practical applications:
- Contact someone you know is online but doesn't have a mobile phone
- Make the most of free wifi to catch up with someone while you are waiting
- Check who's online to decide whether you want to boot up your computer

Take a Photo of your Nokia Screen

Some of the regular readers of MyE65 would have noticed recently that there have been more screenshots used on this blog. There is a free program online which allows you to take a photo of your screen by using a shortcut key combination (for example pressing down the PENCIL button and the default button). All you need to do is load up the program and have it run in the background. You can choose the shortcut key that you want to use to take photos of your screen. Ths is useful if you would like to show a problem on your screen for example, or if you are running a blog about your phone, or just to email an image of a funny text msg you received from someone. Why Nokia E65? Remote Locking!

You are at a shopping centre toilet and after you have done your business, you walk away. 15 minutes later you realize you left your phone in the toilets! When you get back, its gone! What do you do?

There is an option in the phone called Remote Lock (under Tools - Settings - Security - Phone and SIM - Allow remote Lock)

Enabling this will allow you to SMS your mobile number with a predefined "code". When your phone receives this SMS, it LOCKS! You will need to put in an unlock code to use the phone again. The phone still allows you to call up your mobile and maybe negotiate with the thief (or suddenly, good Samaritan) to have your phone returned to you. Pretty cool feature!

New Nokia E65 firmware fails to impress... or work v3.0633.69.00

There is a new firmware available for the Nokia E65 but personally, it hasn't got me convinced that it is worth it. Below are the new features in the firmware version v3.0633.69.00 Also I have tried to run Software updater from the Nokia PC suite but I get a "Missing Software Components" error. It appears even after reinstalling so I havent figured it out yet. Probably wait till a better update comes along. For now, if the following interests you, load up your Software Updater and hope you have more luck than me:
