Upgrade or not? Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0

Yet another upgrade has been available online for the Nokia E65 and other Nokia phones that use the Nokia PC Suite. This time the changes seem to be quite worth the download!

- Nokia Communications Center has gone from 1.0 to 2.0 which now includes
  1. Editting Group Contacts (enables you to sms many people in one go)
  2. Editting Calendar in a very easy to use format
This seems to be the biggest change for the new Nokia PC Suite for the Nokia E65. For other phones such as the N96 and E71 you may notice more changes in the Nokia PC suite such as low battery indicator now available as well as the option to turn off these notifications on the PC suite if you want to conserve battery life on your phone.

There have been some users online complaining of problems when upgrading to 7.1.18.0 but I have not noticed these problems. If you have or you would like to come to the rescue of Nokia PC suite developers click on the link below to add your suggestions and thoughts.

  1. I would think the biggest feature they should be working on is a differential patch upgrade between PC Suite versions. They have been releasing a new version every couple of weeks and the download size is not small. If only we, from the third world, with low bandwidths, could be treated better.

  2. Some problems with the configurability of the new PC suite. Requires some installation of a DS Contacts group plugin or something on the phone but this installation always fails with "Update Error" screen on the phone. Does anyone else have the same problem or has found the fix for this?
