Why Nokia E65? MP3 Alarms and Ringtones

One feature people hardly use is making their mp3 music or recordings their ringtones and alarms. For any sound file, you can open the file in Nokia's music player and then under OPTIONS select ""Set As Ringing Tone". You might want to set a certain song as a reminder for you to do something. Or you could set your own voice recording of yourself telling you to wake up or take out the trash. This is a novel alternative to setting calendar reminders but could be awkward if you forget to change your alarm back to something more generic the next time you use it in a public place.

Nokia E65 Dictionary Hack FINALLY found

Predictive texting is a great feature.. until you inadvertantly add a word like uif in the dictionary. Now, every time you want to type "the" by pressing 843, you get "uif" instead. In an earlier post, there didn't seem to be a fix for this. I am not sure whether it was because I upgraded my firmware but a suggestion made by someone else now works.

If you want the dictionary to predict a certain word, press * until the OPTION menu becomes SPELL.

Select SPELL and add "the" for example, back into the dictionary. now every time you type 843 with the predictive text, it will give you "the" as the first option when you press 843 instead of "uif" or whatever other word you

Nokia E65 free on Three $29 cap!!

It had to be mentioned. Australia's Three network is offering the Nokia E65 for FREE on their $29 cap with up to $190 worth of calls to Three ($70) and non Three ($120) users. Pair this up with a $29 2GB data plan and you have a very sweet mobile and internet deal.

Optus is still offering E65 for $5/month on the $49 cap (catch up optus!) and Telstra... isnt offering the E65!

How to fix youtube videos not showing on Nokia mobiles

Just solved a problem I had for a while. Realplayer never seemed to work properly, saying no connection could be made to the videos off m.youtube.com I checked the "CONNECTIONS" settings in RealPlayer (which I completely forgot even existed) and realised that for some reason there was a PROXY set up, i selected NO to the proxy and tried the videos again and now Mobile YouTube works!

However, the YouTube application still refuses to work. I don't really intend to watch much on my phone but it's just one of those things... its good to know that you can.
