Google Calendar FREE SMS reminders of events
I am not sure if I have posted this before but not many people realise a feature of google calendar. For every event that you put into Google Calendar, there is an option for you to receive an SMS reminder from GOOGLE of the event. Go to http://calendar.google.com/ and under options/settings set up SMS alerts. Google will send you a confirmation sms to verify that the number you entered is actually yours. once that is done, you can automatically select SMS reminder for each event. This feature will only cost you if your phone plan charges for receiving SMS. For Australian users, no carriers charge for receiving sms. Don't believe me? Follow this link to read it from Google. Sure, you could just set an alarm reminder in your phone but what's the fun in that? I am currently looking into various programs to sync google calendar with the nokia phone calendar. If this is something you have mastered already, leave a comment and enlighten us all.

Yeah, I've been using goosync, which is free and works really well. There is a paid service which syncs for more days (up to a year I think) but the free service is fine for most needs syncing 30 days ahead and behind.
